Highlights

Here's the sportscast highlight reel of the weekend:

The photographer came down with a stomach virus.

The florist was an idiot.

14 extra people showed up for the rehersal dinner.

They left the reception with no keys, no money, no ID and no cell phones, and realized it when they got to the place they were staying and had no way to get their clothes out of the truck.

Sharonda was a beautiful, calm, and happy bride.

I have to give her the gold star, Sharonda was the calmest bride in the midst of chaos I've ever seen. The fact that everything went smoothly despite the mishaps, and that they had more people than you can imagine ready and more than willing to fix every problem that came up, is a testament to how being good to people can come back around in your favor at a later date. In the end, they ended up married and that was the only thing that was important. I'm glad I was there to be a part of it all. Sharonda and I have been friends for 20 years, since we were 12. I feel like my sister just got married to the man of her dreams.

Everything always works out - even with the little things that inevitably are going to go wrong. Makes me glad I eloped this time though! =)

Sharonda is notorious for stressing details, so I was very proud of her for staying calm.

The other thing that surprised me was that even though every single member of her husband's family came in from California, there was zero extra stress. They were all awesome and seemed to have a great time. They'll make for really good inlaws. I'm glad we got to spend some time with them. They're a fun family.

So, how did they get their stuff out?

They were able to use the front desk phone to call her dad, who called her sister, who brought them her purse and cell phone, which had his sister's number in it, so they could call her and get her to bring the key to the truck.

This is the danger of cell phones. I can't even remember my husband's phone number, I don't ever have to dial it. It's saved in my phone!

Sounds awesome. I had a few glitches at my wedding, but who cares - I'm still married. As long as we did the vow thing, we're married according to God, and as long as our pastor did the submitting the right paperwork thing, we're married according to the state of California.
