I trekked all the way out to my car to get my camera because hot air balloons are just cool and need their picture taken. It would have been much cooler if it had actually taken off and flown away, but I imagine that's hard to do when it's downtown.

Honestly, no idea. They had it as part of a blah blah blah employee thing with Dr. Khayat and some of the local big wigs pushing the new capital campaign. Yes, they were asking UMC employees to pledge money to the University Development Fund. I giggled. The balloon served no purpose other than to get attention. But it was cool.
Good gravy, knowing what the structure is behind it for scale, that must have been GIANT. Wow.
Yup. The structure behind it is one of the parking garages.
Ironically, not long after I took this picture Jennifer called me at work and the first thing she said was, "What the heck is the balloon doing outside the hospital???" Ha! You couldn't read the sign on it from the street.
